Joseph FridayBoard Vice President
Joseph grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana. After graduating from Purdue University with a BS and MS degree in Engineering he moved to Summerville in 1986 with his wife Debra. He began work at the Summerville Lumber Mill and advanced through many positions including 10 years as the facilities Plant Manager. For the past five years Joseph has been providing innovative solutions to companies and individuals through his business “Solutions by Friday, LLC” providing custom computer applications and consulting support. He enjoys making processes simpler to use, require less time, and provide greater analytical capabilities.
Joseph is very active and has been a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church for 24 years. He has served in many positions as an Elder and is currently serving as the Clerk of Session. For the past 10 years he has served on and/or chaired the Service Ministry Team where he believes he was called to mission by his faith. Joseph believes that the Lord gave us an amazing gift of grace through his son Jesus Christ. His response to that gift is by spreading God’s Love and Hope to others by serving others. He has been involved in many mission projects of the church including participating and leading six mission trips to rural areas of Costa Rica. Joseph has been member of the Rotary Club of Summerville for 18 years being recognized for his active membership as a Rotarian of the Year and a Tomas Bryce Memorial Award for distinguished service.
Joseph enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He has two daughters; Erin Friday Welch and Tanja Friday and two grandsons; Connor and Cody Welch who live locally.
Joseph joined the Dorchester County Community Outreach (DCCO) Board in 2016 and is currently serving as the Board’s Vice-President. He prays that his passion for helping others is an asset to the Board and the Homeless in our area.
