Frank Dreyer

Executive Director

After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, Frank became an architect in his hometown of Chicago.  After living in Wisconsin for 10 years, he moved his family to the warmer climes of Summerville in 1988.  His family quickly fell in love with the community and its people.  Soon, Frank was invited to serve on the Dorchester County Economic Development board.  After holding the Chairman position for several years, Frank was asked to join the board of the newly formed Dorchester County Development Corporation which raises funds for economic development.  Six years ago, he moved to the position of President, a position he still holds today.  Frank is also a charter member and past president of the Summerville Oakbrook Breakfast Rotary Club.  His past experience shows a passion for being involved with projects that better the community.  He believes if you love your community, you will want to be involved in its preservation and its success.  When Mayor Collins asked for volunteers to help bring the Lowcountry Home of Hope to fruition, it was only natural for Frank to embrace the challenge.  Perhaps with God’s help, we can give those without a home a sense of belonging we all embrace in Summerville.
